Meet Ryan Janis

My name is Ryan Janis, and I’m running for Agoura Hills City Council. I care deeply about our city and the people who call it home. Here are a few things you should know about me:
  • I’ve been married to my wife, Amanda, for 16 years. She is a Registered Nurse at UCLA.
  • We have two wonderful children who attend schools in the Las Virgenes Unified School District (LVUSD), and an English Bulldog named Bonnie.
  • I started my career in the mental health field as a volunteer crisis counselor at the Suicide Prevention Center in Los Angeles.
  • I am a licensed psychologist with a doctorate (Psy.D.) in Psychology.
  • I own a private mental health practice in Los Angeles, employing 30 mental health providers.
  • As a business owner (psychology practice) for over a decade, I’ve taken on many different roles. The skills I've acquired as a leader will help me work with city staff and Agoura Hills residents.
  • I served as Co-President of the Yerba Buena Elementary School Parent Faculty Association (PFA) for the past two years, where we broke fundraising records and completed significant campus improvements. I understand how to manage revenue and a budget!

Let's Talk

There are many important issues facing Agoura Hills, and I want to hear from you. If you have questions, concerns, or ideas, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, we can continue building a city we’re proud to call home.
